Scrapbooking .. maybe?

I decided today that I was going to make a scrapbook for the baby. I bought a new book and tons of supplies ....... One page later and Im taking a break! I just didnt have the energy for all that cutting and gluing!

I think the first page is adorable, though ;) Hopefully, Ill actually stick with this and keep up with it!

Updates and Great news!

Before I begin, I have to thank my husband for being such a wonderful man and being absolutely incredible to me while I was on bed rest! He took care of all the chores from grocery shopping to laundry and cleaning while constantly making sure I was comfortable. He went out of his way to make sure I was OK and I cant even begin to explain how appreciative I am for that.

So, Vinny, If you're reading this, Thank you! I couldnt have picked a better man to marry or father for my child! I love you more than you'll ever know!

I havent officially been released from bed rest but at our N/T scan today, the tech told us she couldnt see any tears in the placenta and everything looked great so we of course, we're thrilled to hear that news.

What is the nuchal translucency screening test?

This prenatal test (also called the NT or nuchal fold scan) can help your healthcare practitioner assess your baby's risk of having Down syndrome (DS) and some other chromosomal abnormalities as well as major congenital heart problems.

This is the screening we went for today which was followed by great news! During the scan, the tech was able to confirm that the SCH was no longer visible and my uterus and other parts were in perfect condition. Amazing :) She was also able to get all the measurements she needed, tons of angles and great pictures - Despite baby sleeping on its head for the first five minutes of the scan!

Although we didnt receive any results yet, the tech assured us everything looked perfect and that no news is good news when it come to expecting a call. Again, great news!

Emergency Room Visit and a Little Scare

unfortunately, I had to spend the day in the er. Last night, around 6pm I wasnt feeling well and started vomiting excessively, which lasted consistently until about 11 am this morning. I started cramping so I gave my doctor a call and he instructed me to go to the e.r since I havent been able to hold anything down. They found I was partially dehydrated so I was put on an iv and given fluids and zofran.

I had an u/s and it was the most amazing experience ever! LO was flipping, kicking and wiggling all around! Every time the tech placed the monitor on my abdomen, lo would put its hands straight over its face and s/he's also a leg crosser! LO looked perfect with a strong heartbeat of 154 bpm and was even measuring two days ahead but they found a subchorionic hemorage - a tear between the placenta and uterus which is causing pretty consistent cramping.

Doc said its not uncommon for this to happen and that in fact, 25% of pregnancies have them and its not great cause for alarm since its very small but its something that needs to be watched. Im on pelvic rest until further notice or until my OB reads the report and schedules a follow up with me.

11 weeks!

Ive really been slacking this week with my updates, its been a really busy and eventful weekend/week.

How far along? 11 weeks!

Baby's Size? Lime :)

Total weight gain? According to my scale .5lbs but according to doc's 3 lbs but Im accrediting that to the chili cheese dog I hate minutes before my appointment.

Maternity clothes? Nope just living in dresses.

Sleep? Its getting much, much better. Im still not myself yet but Ive definitely gained back most of my energy and aside from waking up to pee, Im basically sleeping through the night comfortably.

Best moment this week?We had an emergency Ultrasound today (Ill update in another post) and LO was so, so much bigger than last time! Its incredible how much LO looks like a baby, now! S/he was wiggling, kicking and flipping all over the place! Despite being very sick, lo looked perfect with a string heartbeat of 154 bpm and even measured two days ahead. Every time the baby moved Vin said "Oh, shit/holy shit" haha

Miss anything? No! I will give up everything for this baby, S/he is so worth it <3

Movement? I havent felt it yet but I witnessed it on u/s!

Craving? Nothing.

Anything making you sick or queasy? Nope and morning sickness is pretty much gone! Thank God!!!

Gender? According to Vin its a boy!  If things work out in our favor then we'll be finding out in about a month!!  :)

Labor Signs? No, baby needs to stay put!

Symptoms? This week, I said goodbye to morning sickness but hello to peeing every freaking minute!

Belly button in or out? In and its going to stay that way for a while ;)

Wedding rings on or off? Im currently only wearing my wedding band. The heat was so bad yesterday and I was pretty dehydrated so I had to take them off but Ill be putting them back on soon.

Mood? This week, happy, sad, scared and excited all balled into one!

Looking forward to? The n/t scan on Monday and the follow up appointment with my OB to make sure LO is OK, of course.

You'll have to excuse the wet hair/no make up look. Took this before I was finished getting ready!

Happy Independence Day.

Our annual 4th of July block party was a success!

Vinny and I spent the day at my parents house eating and swimming with my family, his brother, sister n law and their new little girl; then we headed over to the neighbors for more food and fireworks. It was really nice seeing so many of my old neighbors, reminiscing about our childhood and how things have changed. There's just something about being back home that makes holidays so much more special.

Normally, I'd be hung over today and stay in bed until five but Im happy to say that I feel great! I dont even have any morning sickness! My life has changed so much over the last three months and I know there are many more changes to come! Its so exciting to think that this time next year, Ill have a 6 month old baby with me at the block party.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Tubing down the Delaware

Yesterday, myself and 32 friends packed lunches, filled a bunch of coolers, rented tubes and spent the day floating down the Delaware. Unfortunately, I was sober this year (thank god for my other pregnant friend) so it was definitely a different experience being with a bunch of drunks :)!

Luckily, everyone made it down the river in one piece, well, almost everyone, there were a few mishaps with rocks and rapids however, I stayed in my tube and sailed smoothly for four long, relaxing hours.

The day was full of laughter, back flips and chaos!

The Delaware made out like a bandit, though! Here's a list of things it claimed from us:
  • 4 pairs of sunglasses
  • 2 pairs of water shoes
  • 2 thermos'
  • A cooler
  • A pair of gauges
  • A pair of shorts
  • AND my husbands WEDDING BAND!! eerr!!!
Despite getting lost, being late, getting a nice sun burn and losing a bunch of stuff, it was a great time and the perfect end to my weekend! Really hope I could swing the trip again next year!
